Run It Disc Golf ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the Run It Disc Golf mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect:
- Email address
- PDGA number
- Name (if provided)
- Your division and player rating
If you sign in with Google or with Apple, that provider sends us your email address and, if you allow it, your name. We never receive your password.
Gameplay and App Data
We may store:
- Disc golf round data
- Performance statistics
- Training preferences
- Game plans you create
- Players you choose to follow
- App usage data
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to Run It Pro, we receive a record of the purchase, which plan it was, and whether it is still active. Payment itself is handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card number.
Technical Information
Our services may collect limited technical information such as:
- Device type
- Operating system
- App version
- A notification token, if you turn notifications on
- An advertising identifier, on iOS only, and only if you allow tracking when the app asks
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Save and synchronize your disc golf rounds
- Analyze player performance and statistics
- Improve app features and functionality
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
- Measure how well our own advertising works, so we know which ads bring disc golfers to the app
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Third-Party Services
Run It Disc Golf relies on the services below. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Google (Firebase). Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and Cloud Messaging. Between them these handle sign in, store your account record, tell us which parts of the app get used, report crashes, deliver feature settings, and deliver notifications on Android. Analytics events are tied to your account identifier.
Our own servers. Your rounds, game plans, course layouts, tournament data, the players you follow, and the predictions the app shows you are stored on our own servers, hosted at Heroku, rather than in Firebase. Those records include your email address and PDGA number.
RevenueCat. Manages your subscription and tells the app whether you have Run It Pro. It receives your account identifier and your purchase history.
Apple and Google. All payments go through the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card details, only a record that a purchase happened.
Meta. Receives the advertising events described in section 4.
Expo. Delivers app updates and push notifications. It sees your device type, app version, and your notification token.
PDGA. When you open a live scoring screen, your phone reads results from pdga.com directly. We send nothing personal, but their servers see the request, as they would for any visit to their site.
These services may collect limited information necessary to operate the application.
4. Sharing for Advertising
We advertise Run It Disc Golf. So that we can tell which ads work, the app sends a small set of events to Meta (Facebook and Instagram): app installs and launches, account signups, rounds logged, paywall views, free trials started, and subscriptions purchased, including the amount. These are tied to your device, and to an advertising identifier if you allowed tracking.
We do not give Meta your email address, your name, or your disc golf data.
On iOS the app asks your permission before using an advertising identifier for this. If you decline, Meta still receives the events listed above but cannot tie them to an advertising profile.
California law calls this "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not any money changes hands. To be plain about it: we do not sell your personal data and never have, but we do share the data described in this section for advertising, and you can stop it.
To opt out, email support@runitdiscgolf.com from the address on your account with "opt out of ad sharing" in the subject line, and we will turn ad sharing off for your account. On iOS you can also decline tracking when the app asks, or turn Run It Disc Golf off later under Settings, Privacy and Security, Tracking.
5. Data Storage
Your data is stored on Google Firebase and on our own servers hosted at Heroku, both in the United States. We take reasonable steps to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices and Controls
You can delete your account from inside the app, on the Profile screen. Deleting an account removes your notification registration, the rounds and game plans held on our servers, your account record, and your sign in credentials.
You can also:
- Turn notifications off in your device settings
- Opt out of ad sharing as described in section 4
- Email support@runitdiscgolf.com to ask what data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted
If you would rather not delete the account yourself, email support@runitdiscgolf.com and we will do it for you.
7. Children's Privacy
Run It Disc Golf is not intended for users under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email support@runitdiscgolf.com and we will remove it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When a change is significant, such as a change to who we share your data with, we will update the date at the top. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
